General Information

The University adheres to an open policy in active international academic exchange and cooperation. It has established academic links with sixteen universities and institutes abroad, namely, State Academy of Oil & Gas, Russia, University of Wyoming, USA, Heriot-watt University, U.K., and so on. Up to now, 578 experts, professors or scholars from America, U.K., Russia and some other countries had given lectures or made cooperation research in the university.
The University is the workstation in the petroleum system of China International Educational Exchange Center, is one institute of the ten China members signed in the cooperation program agreement “1-2-1 Sino-American Talents Cultivating Program” between China International Education Exchange Center and American International Economic and Cultural
Exchange Association. All the freshmen in any specialties can go to American member universities financed by themselves for the second and third year studies after they successively finish their undergraduate course during the first year in Xi'an Shiyou University and return back to
Shiyou University to finish the courses of last year, andthey can acquire the graduate certificate and the degree certificate both of China and America at the same time. Since 2001, the “Sino- American 1-2-1 Joint Degree Program” has been contracted successively between the university and four American universities to cultivate undergraduates and postgraduates jointly.
